If you've ever been a part of the Marching Arts at a competitive level, you've heard of "Box 5". It is the elusive top of the judging rubric to which every single performer and group aspire. It is, in the eyes of a judge, in the realm of perfection. Box 5 is the highest possible accomplishment for excellence achievable. 

There is a great argument over whether or not scores matter. I tend to think they don't, but that doesn't make the achievement of excellence any less important. While I may not personally believe that scores can tell you anything, I believe that the idea of achieving Box 5 is very real. It's an attitude as well as an aptitude. That's where this business's "Attitude is Everything" and having a #Box5Attitude come in. If Box 5 is synonymous with excellence, well then let's use that. Give the crowd a Box 5 performance. Give your life Box 5 effort. Give of yourself with the best possible intentions and attitude (Box 5) every day. 

We all face struggles in our daily lives in and out of the performing arts. Put your best foot forward and use your knowledge and experience to achieve the most you can and lift yourself and those around you. Make your efforts memorable and perform everything. There doesn't have to be a lot of pressure associated with that notion. As we all know, how we recover can have more importance than the original action. Just put your most honest and best intentions and effort into everything you do and use your #Box5Attitude as motivation!

The judging sheets may have evolved, but one thing has always remained the same...the attitude.
